Warren and Biden Betray Israel at J St Conference

From RRW

Warren Supports Jerusalem as "Both Capitals" and Sanders Promises to Divert Israel Aid to HAMAS

Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts told the participants of this week’s J Street national conference in Washington DC,
“I will also immediately resume aid to the Palestinians and financial support to UNRWA and focus on fixing the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and on bringing greater freedom and prosperity to the people in the West Bank. We must find ways to make tangible progress on the ground toward a two-state solution,” she said.
“As president, I will take immediate steps to fix the damage caused by Donald Trump’s reckless policies,” Warren vowed. “I will welcome the Palestinian General Delegation back to Washington and I will reopen an American mission to the Palestinians in Jerusalem."
*I will make clear that in a two-state agreement both parties should be able to have their capitals in Jerusalem.”*
“Sometimes that might mean finding ways to apply pressure and create consequences for problematic behavior as previous Democratic and Republican presidents have done. For example: If Israel’s government continues with steps to formally annex the West Bank, the US should make clear that none of our aid should be used to support annexation.”
(Warren may have been referring to Obama's holding up military supplies needed by Israel in the summer of 2014 while Israeli civilians were facing rocket fire from Gaza.)
“...we must lay a foundation that enables Israelis and Palestinians to move beyond the broken status quo toward a brighter future. And I look forward to working with J Street as we build that future... "

Sanders Promises to Divert America's Aid from Israel to HAMAS
Former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley blasted Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders for his pledge on Monday to force Israel to allocate part of its US military assistance toward humanitarian relief in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
At the national conference of the left-wing J Street lobby group in Washington, DC, Sanders said after being asked about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, “I would use the leverage of $3.8 billion,” referring to the military aid package.
“My solution is, to Israel, if you want military aid, you’re going to have to fundamentally change your relationship to the people of Gaza,” Sanders stated. “I would say that _some of the $3.8 billion should go right now to humanitarian aid in Gaza.”_
__
In response, Haley tweeted, “Just when you thought Bernie Sanders couldn’t get any more radical, he outdid himself. He wants to take money we give to Israel to defend itself from terrorists, and give it to Gaza, which is run by terrorists?? Unreal.”
“Why isn’t every other Dem pres candidate saying he’s wrong?” she asked.
