Have you ever been to a Shabat table and sat quiet when remarks were made about gentiles? Or secular Jews? I think people just don't like it when it is dished out to them in reverse. When people bash, take it that perhaps there is some hidden Dark Side in the charedi world that you are not seeing. Believe me it is there. Instead of ignoring it, try to figure out a creative solution--perhaps like emphasizing Musar or something else that perhaps could help. [ Apparently Rebbi Nachman thought hisbodadut would help people come to their proper character correction. He had other advice along these lines. Perhaps his advice does not always work as is apparent from breslov chasidim, or perhaps it works but human failing are intactable, but at least he was no ignoring human problems.()
