Series on NYT and Bias: 4) The New York Times - CAMERA

From RRW
https://www.camera.org/nytimes/

What we have seen, in this series, are:

Pro Israel groups defining the NYT  as hopelessly anti Israel (the way the NYT buried the Holocaust)
 -and-
Enemies of Israel proclaiming the NYT as hopelessly too Jewish.

What we  thus have is:
the actual bias of the NYT
 -and-
the bias of the readers of the NYT.

How much does what you want to see affect what you are seeing? This is not to say that what you see is wrong but it is still always important to ask this question. -- RBH
(It is always easy to contend that an opposing viewpoint is simply lying but then wouldn't it immediately be discounted as the lie becomes apparent. For any argument to have a chance of being heard, it would seem to have to have some basis albeit minimal and slanted. A blatant lie would seem to be self-destructive. That is why the presentation of this series was important. There is, though, also the possibility that the bias is so powerful that even the blatant lie cannot be seen as such.)
