Do we have the Brains to accurately determine Brain Death?

Let's concede arguendo that Brain Stem Death meets all Halachic requirements for time of death.

Question: Can we trust the physicians involved NOT to be biased - ESPECIALLY when they have a self-interest in harvesting organs?
